Robert James, born 23rd April weighing 5lb 2oz

Robert James Dalby born 23.4.07 weighing 5lb2ozs with Mummy and Daddy, Amanda & Martyn.

A nice e-mail we received from Melina who is suffering from PCOS.

Hi Norah

The vitaline program is fantastic and its teaching for the first time ever how to manage my symptoms thrugh my diet. I cannot thank you enough for all you have done, weight is coming off, my acne is so much better (I actually went shopping the other day at Tescos with no makeup on...sounds sad but I havent been confident for years enough to go down the shops without a little bit of makeup so it was a big thing for me).

I will do all i can to help raise the profile of PCOS and Vitaline. I havent been battling with the system as long as perhaps others in the group as I was only diagnosed in march but I know that had i not searched the internet and come across Vitaline and simply took on the minimal advice given by my gp my story would be very different.

Thanks again for everything.

Welcome to Elliott  Robert James Sheldon -
the 120th Vitaline PCOS beautiful baby boy.

Elliott Robert James

As a PCOS sufferer,  we have been trying for a baby for over 14 years. I was overweight, with all the usual PCOS symptoms, but after losing 50 lbs, I believe it was the Vitaline PCOS diet plan that helped me to become healthy and have my beautiful baby boy. Elliott  was born on the 14th September at 5.23am and Denn, his dad, still can't believe this wonderful miracle.  I hope my pictures and story will give hope to PCOS women who are desperate to have a baby.  The Vitaline PCOS healthy eating plan worked for me, it could work for you.  I am so wonderfully happy now that my family is complete.

Trent

Trent

My story - by Carol

I was diagnosed with PCOS just after my 18th birthday. (August 1999)

I had spent years with the most painful periods when I had them, and even experienced the pain when I missed them (which was most months). I also had also put on loads of weight for no apparent reason (my diet hadn't changed) and it got to the point that I had to know what was wrong with me.

The week before I got my diagnoses, I had heard on radio one Sunday surgery about PCOS and automatically knew this was what I had, so it wasn't so much of a surprise when I was told.

What I hadn't known was my dream of having children was all but over.

This was hard for me as all I had ever wanted was to have children.

I got a lot of support from my family, friends and my then boyfriend and in the September I got engaged. We planned to get married in the May of 2003 and the prospect of a wedding dress and me at the weight I was jump started me into starting at weight watchers.

My mum and me started at weight watchers. I weighed 14st 4lbs when I started and by the time the wedding came round my mum had lost a lot but even though I stuck to it religiously I had managed to loose 2st over 2 years and then put it plus more back on!!!!! No one knew why this was happening and it not only drove me mad, it was so upsetting as people would think I'd been lazy and cheated!

After spending a hell of a lot of money on loosing weight only to put it plus more back on, I gave up weight watchers.

After trying various other "plans" and diets (some of which were the most ridiculous things ever to be heard of!) I found myself even heavier, even more depressed and out of ideas.

My husband and I had started trying for a baby quite soon after getting married but were getting no where. The on going missed periods making me think I might be, then doing yet another test just to find out that it was negative was heartbreaking.

In the spring of 2004 my mother in law handed me a print off from the Internet. It was a healthy eating plan that helped PCOS sufferers and even helped them to fall pregnant!

I spent the next year weighing up whether I should put even more money into a "healthy eating plan" after all the money I had already spent, and wasted!

But then at 15st 12lbs and after being given the money for the registration by my mother in law at Christmas, on Sunday 24 Apr 2005 I finally went for it and became a member of vitaline!

Over the next few months my PCOS symptoms eased a little and the weight dropped off so easily I was just waiting for a catch, there wasn't one and by the August of 2005 I had lost 34lbs and my periods were (for the first time ever!) regular!

Then the unthinkable happened, I missed a period and found I had put on a few pounds!

I did a pregnancy test and, as usual, it came back negative. By this point I was trying to figure out what had gone wrong. My hubby told me to wait a week and we'd do another test.

The longest week went by and on 17th November I did another test. This time, unlike any other test I had done (and there have been many!), there was a tiny faint line. (So tiny my hubby couldn't see it and thought I was willing it to be there!)

We booked a doctors appointment on the 18th and we were told I probably wasn't pregnant but he could also see a very faint line on the test I did for him so we were told to wait two weeks and then come back.

Well me being me, and knowing that I had never ever got a pregnancy test come back with a faint line on it, I couldn't wait. I dragged Chris (hubby) into town and we bought a digital clear blue test (the one that actually spells it out on the screen, pregnant, not pregnant).

We got home, and I did the test.

We both stood in the bathroom denying ourselves the temptation of looking down at that little stick. After what felt like the longest few minutes of our lives, Chris looked down (as at this point I felt too sick and dizzy to be able to!) and his sharp intake of breath gave it away. I looked down to see the word I had longed for. PREGNANT.

That was it, I burst out crying! I took photos of the test just so that later I wouldn't think I was dreaming it!

I still couldn't believe it and during the two weeks waiting to go back to the doctors we did about seven more tests!!!!

On November 30th 2005 it was confirmed by the doctor that we were expecting our little miracle!

Some how we managed to keep this a secret until I was nearly 12 weeks pregnant!

On the 27th December we told our families. We had wrapped up little snowmen Christmas decorations with Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle on them. The looks on their faces as they realised what was going on was fantastic! (It took my mum nearly a month to get to grips with the news, she was so happy!)

At every scan and appointment I sat there amazed that this was happening.

I did worry throughout my pregnancy that something was going to go wrong, it had taken over two years to get this far and it had all seemed so easy once I had started with Vitaline.

I got through until 36 weeks without a problem.

At 36 weeks and 6 days (36+6), Thursday 29th June, I went to my midwife appointment and found my blood pressure had gone sky high and there was protein in my urine. I was rushed to the hospital to be monitored and have baby on a foetal trace. I was only supposed to be there for a few hours, but they took the decision to induce me. I had the on set of pre eclampsia and I was also anaemic.

So Thursday night I had my first dose of gel and had mild contractions through the night. I was given 5 doses of gel in total and finally on Sunday 2nd July I got to 3cms and was taken down to the delivery ward after waiting all day for a bed there.

My waters were broken at 8:10pm by a wonderful midwife called Karen who had looked after me all day on Sunday.

I was talked into having an epidural for the safety of me and the baby due to my pre eclampsia and they hooked it up, they didn't put the drugs in though as the anaesthetist was rushed away to an emergency c-section. By the time he got back it was too late, and baby Trent James was born at 2:46am Monday 3rd July 2006, 3 weeks early and weighing 6lbs 6 and a half oz.

I know I'm bias but he is gorgeous and has a full head of very dark hair. (takes after me and Chris)

I had a bit of a time after he was born as the umbilical cord came away from the placenta and then after that was sorted out I wouldn't stop bleeding.

My epidural came in handy then as I was taken down to theatre and they sorted out what was making me bleed.

I lost quite a lot of blood and being anaemic already, this made me quite ill and I needed two blood transfusions.

Finally on the Wednesday (5th July) I was discharged from hospital.

My two to three hour stay had turned into nearly a weeks stay, but it meant I got my baby early!!

Thanks to vitaline I have my very much longed for miracle baby and I am about to start the healthy eating plan again so I can loose the baby weight and the rest of the weight I had to loose originally.

We are hoping that in a year we will start trying for a brother or sister for Trent and continue on with our dream for a large family.

I know that if you are reading this and aren't a member of Vitaline yet you may be unsure of whether to join or not, all I can say to you is it does work, and against other slimmers groups, it is worth the money as this plan is designed to work for you and your metabolic rate. Slimmers world, weight watchers slim fast etc may work for a while, but because of PCOS your body will catch up with it and you will start putting on weight again which is disheartening and an expensive waste of time.

Vitaline is easy to stick too and works, and if you have a bad day you can talk to your personal adviser and get help (or just something off your chest).

If you are anything like me, you will have found that there isn't much advice on PCOS and what you can do to help your symptoms and help you to fall pregnant. This is the site that will help you!

If you're not a PCOS sufferer, this healthy eating plan can still help you loose weight. I have various members of my family and friends who "steal" my cleanser diet after being on holiday, having a blow out weekend or just because they see the weight creeping on and they use it to great effect!

For those of you with PCOS wanting to have a baby, I am living proof that Vitaline can help you achieve your dream. I am told that Trent is the 108th Vitaline baby. That's a lot of babies!!!!

I am so happy that I have Trent in my life, and I thank Vitaline so very much!

God Bless to anyone who is a member already or about to join vitaline!

Love and best wishes to you all, From Carol Hewlett.

This is the Vitaline PCOS 100th Baby, Neve

Neve, Vitaline's 100th baby!!

Hi to All,

Last year I found out about vitaline through a friend after I had suffered a miscarriage the year before and discovered I had pcos.

I joined straight away and in the first week I lost 7lbs. I was amazed and this gave me the determination to carry on in two months I had lost two and half stone.

This must of kick started my body and in March I fell pregnant for the second time - I couldn't believe it but it was to be short lived four days later I started to bleed and had a second miscarriage. I was devastated.

I carried on with my diet and my husband and myself decided to go away for my 27th birthday in April to Spain. Whilst there I became ill and had sickness for three days I put it down to too much sangria and sun we flew home on the Saturday but still I felt rough at the back of my mind I just kept thinking maybe I was pregnant. I decided I would do a test on the Monday - it was positive! I was shocked; my husband more.Tthe pregnancy went quite well I had a few scares along the way but on 19th December 2005 Neve Grace May Peters was born weighing a healthy 7lb 7 and half oz she is our miracle baby and I have enclosed a photo for you.

I cannot thank you enough for all your help and support especially kacey my advisor.

Thanks again
Claire Peters

KATE

January 2006

Hello! I'm Kate and I was diagnosed with PCOS properly nearly 5 years ago.

I tried different diets, slimming world, weight watchers...but nothing seemed to have a real impact on my weight at all. I was talking to a friend's mother, who is a nurse, telling her how frustrating I found trying to lose weight and she mentioned Vitaline and suggested that I googled it.

I did and found the website. I spent days reading and re-reading
other people's stories of success and I have to admit that I was
slightly sceptical at first - it all seemed to good to be true. But I
talked it over with my husband (a true marvel who has put up with all of my crazy moods, even the time that I was so depressed that I was literally hitting my head against a iron railway bridge) and figured that it was worth a go.

That was eight weeks ago and since starting on the plan I have lost 21lbs. I have never lost this much weight before and it is really motivating me to keep on going even though there I days when all I really want is pie and chips! I know that I still have a fair bit of weight to shift, but I feel really empowered for the first time in my life and, more importantly, I feel in control.

I don't post on the site much (I think that this might be post number 2) but knowing that it is here and that I can read how we are all feeling, doing, succeeding - which is what we are all doing in our own incredible ways, has made a massive difference to my life in eight short yet long weeks.

So to those of you who are thinking about giving it a go - do. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

All the best and good luck.

SASHA
Sasha

Hi All

My name is Sasha, I am 30 years old, and have been happily married to Andy for the last 8 years. We have been together since I was 17.

This is my story, sorry it is long!

It started when I was 15 yrs old and was having a period every six weeks. My mum was a bit concerned as she had never experienced anything like that before herself or in my family and she took me to see our local Doctor.

"Well everybody, it has happened. I can't believe it, but I am 35 weeks pregnant and my baby is expected on the 8 May, 2002. Yes it's true, I am actually having a baby, naturally. How did it happen?

Well, I believe, it's all thanks to Vitaline. As you all know, I have struggled with my weight for years. I have suffered with PCOS for years and have been trying for 13 years to have a baby. I have had failed attempts at IVF. I have tried every diet on the market, but I had not tried Vitaline.

When I heard about Vitaline, I was desperate to lose weight. My doctor advised that if I lost weight, I could go on IVF once again. My PCOS was severe and as you know from my story, I have suffered, depression, mood swings, body and facial hair; in fact, all the problems related to PCOS.

I really wanted to get healthy in order to give myself the best possible chance of a pregnancy. I enrolled at Vitaline and they gave me a metabolic rate assessment. This was to find out what was the best type of diet to help me. I had my own personal plan prepared, which was so different than anything I had tried before. I was never hungry. The food was normal food and I was given lots of tips and recipes on how to get the best results from my plan. I learned about the type of food I needed to eat because of the various medications I had taken in the past. I was taught about the different vitamins my body needed to give me stamina and successful weight losses, and which food provided these vitamins. My diet was all set out in meals, so all I needed to do was follow my personal plan. I lost weight every week. My depression lifted, and I started to feel healthier as I became slimmer.

Sasha

Then it happened. I discovered I was pregnant. I could not believe it. My doctor was delighted because I was pregnant naturally. I no longer needed the IVF programme. I wanted to wait until I passed the first 12 weeks before I announced my pregnancy. I have seen my scan. Everything is fine and I honestly believe that because I am eating correctly, on a diet that suited me perfectly, got the counselling that I needed to help build my self-esteem, and confidence, that I have succeeded and the pregnancy has happened. I am delighted and am looking forward to May 8, 2002 when my baby is due. If I can succeed, after 13 years of trying unsuccessful methods, I am sure that Vitaline can help you. It worked for me. I now know a lot more about nutrition and what is necessary to keep healthy. Vitaline is all about teaching you how to look after yourself by eating a healthy diet, personally balanced to suit your individual needs. If I can succeed, so can you.

If you want to know more, why not email help@pcos-vitaline.com and I know they will help because they really do care about helping everybody to lose weight healthily and without gimmicks. I just wish I had found Vitaline 13 years' ago.

Get in touch now, you will be glad that you did"

MELISSA
Melissa

Melissa has PCOS and has suffered with all the unpleasant symptoms since age 14. Over the years, the symptoms became worse. Terrific weight gain, painful periods, mood swings, facial and body hair, dizziness, fatigue, acne, thinning hair and inspite of many visits to her doctor, begging for a diagnosis, was only diagnosed with PCOS two years' ago.

After receiving the news of PCOS, Melissa was told by her Consultant that the chances of her having children were very low indeed. She was devastated by this news and was just told to come back in a few months to discuss Fertility treatment. She was not given any information on PCOS by the medical profession, so decided to do her own research. After looking on the Internet, she found the Vitaline, PCOS website. After enrolling, and successfully losing weight on her personal programme, she also reduced some of her unpleasant symptoms. A few months after losing weight, Melissa announced she was pregnant, naturally.

She gave birth August 2003, to a beautiful baby girl, Mia, pictured here. Congratulations to Melissa and her partner on the birth of their new baby, and we wish them all a very healthy and happy future.

This is another case to prove that the Vitaline PCOS diet system really is effective and really does help sufferers to lose weight and reduce their symptoms. For the women who want to conceive, losing weight on a healthy eating plan, really does improve your chances of conception, as Melissa has proven.

Not all women with PCOS want to have babies, some just want to reduce their unpleasant symptoms and Vitaline can help you to do that by following a very healthy, personal eating plan.

‘I tried for five years to get pregnant – now I’ve had my son, Marshal’
Maria, Norah and Marshall

Marie Hernon, 28, from Cheshire, is a midwife

“I met my fiancé, Mike, when I was 17, and I went on the Pill quite soon after. In January 2000, I stopped taking the Pill – we were really settled, had been together for six years, so thought we’d ‘see what happened’. As soon as I came off the Pill, my periods became irregular. I assumed this was normal, but after three years I started to wonder why, after not using any contraception, I wasn’t pregnant. Around the same time, I noticed I’d put on quite a bit of weight. I’d gained around 2st and had gone up two dress sizes.

In September 2003, after three and half years of being off the Pill, I decided I should go to the doctor to find out if something was wrong. They did some tests and we were referred to a private fertility clinic. Mike’s sperm test was normal, which meant the problem was probably me. The doctors did an ultrasound, discovered my ovaries were covered with cysts and diagnosed PCOS. I had heard of PCOS, so I was worried this had affected my fertility – after all, I had been trying to get pregnant for five years. I found it really hard working as a midwife delivering babies when all the time I was worried I might not have my own. Just after my diagnosis, I started to look into PCOS on the internet and found a site called Vitaline, which specialises in diets for people who have PCOS. Certain foods, like sweets and bread, can make your symptoms worse. In February 2004, I started a special PCOS diet and, within eight weeks, I’d lost a stone.

In April, my period was late. My periods were irregular anyway, but I thought I should do a pregnancy test, just in case. I assumed it would be like all the other times I’d done a test and been disappointed, so I couldn’t believe it when the test was positive. I think I did about 20 tests just to make sure! ‘The doctors did an ultrasound and discovered that my ovaries were covered in cysts’

My pregnancy was fine, but the doctors did keep an eye on my blood-sugar levels – apparently, if you’ve got PCOS you’re more likely to suffer diabetes in pregnancy. Then, on 2 December 2004, my son, Marshal, was born via Caesarean.

The doctor told me having a baby might help my symptoms in terms of having more regular periods and aiding weight loss, but so far it’s a bit too early to tell. If other PCOS sufferers are worried they might not be able to conceive, I’d just urge them to keep trying. There are lots of treatments, so it could just be a matter of finding the right one for you. At the moment, my life may be one big round of feeding and changing nappies, but I really couldn’t be happier
